Auto identify

Dams2k4 has a built in simple auto-identify utility. This can be accessed via the Control Panel.
What IS auto-identify?
On servers with services such as Nickserv, you have a password for your Nickname to log on and prove that you own it. Everytime you change your nick to one that is Registered you have to Identify by sending Nickserv the password for that Nickname. E.g.-
/nick Registered /msg nickserv identify mypassword
Auto-identify systems do this automatically for you. Some allow you to set a selection of Nicks and Passwords for various servers and services. Dams2k4 is kept more simple for ease of use.
What's auto-identify in Dams2k4 then?
In Dams2k4, we operate on the assumption that the majority of you use Nickserv's Group facility. That is, all your Main nicks in use are grouped together using ONE password. So all we store is ONE password when you set up your auto-identifier.
Benefits of using Auto-Identifiers
- It's quicker.
- You don't necessarily have to remember complex passwords (always keep a record though)
- Your script will auto-identify for you if needed when you are AFK (on netsplits, reconnects etc)
